Refqa Abu-Remaileh is Associate Professor in Residence in the Liberal Arts Program. She specializes in modern Arabic literature, with a focus on Palestinian literary history and cultural production. She is the author of the digital interactive award-winning monograph, , published by in 2023.
Prior to joining NUQ, Abu-Remaileh was Associate Professor of Modern Arabic Literature and Film at the Freie Universität Berlin. Between 2018 and 2023, she was also the Principal Investigator of a large grant project, , funded by the .
Abu-Remaileh earned her MSt and DPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies, with a focus on Modern Arabic Literature and Film, from the University of Oxford, and her BA in English Literature from the University of British Columbia.
